My name is Dr Alexandra Kanowski and I am looking forward to being your anaesthetist for your upcoming procedure.
I grew up in Townsville and completed my medical training at James Cook University. Prior to specialising in anaesthesia, I worked in intensive care before completing my anaesthetics training across the Sunshine Coast and Townsville.
I enjoy all aspects of anaesthesia and am committed to maintaining up-to-date knowledge and skills to safely manage any perioperative situation. I have a particular interest in regional anaesthesia (nerve blocks), which can significantly reduce pain and support a more comfortable recovery after surgery.
I have volunteered overseas in Vanuatu, which has further strengthened my ability to provide safe care in a variety of settings. Outside of work, I enjoy athletics.
